Life After Retirement

By Dani Blackburn

Retirees dream of days spent sleeping past sunrise, reading that book they have been meaning to grab and sunset strolls with their spouse.
However, many find themselves settling into a period of boredom and restlessness, struggling to find meaning to this new phase of life and how to proceed next.

A study by the UK Institute of Economic Affairs found 40 percent of retirees suffer from clinical depression and six out of 10 described a decrease in health.

A job leaves an individual feeling as if they have contributed to both society and the home and are appreciated for that.
They find satisfaction in their work and enjoy relationships with coworkers, while a daily routine has been proven to be good for one’s mental health.
