Last August, Tommie Applewhite lived in dire conditions. Living in a small well house, with no electricity except for what he could get from a neighboring property using extension cords, Tommie also was very under fed.
One phone call to Shelly Mowery, Executive Director of the Parker County Committee on Aging, changed all that. Without intervention, Tommie might have died in that well house from malnutrition or heat stroke, but now he’s living in an assisted living facility not far from Weatherford’s Senior Center, all thanks to Shelly and her people at PCCOA.
