If you watch golf on television you’ve seen the TopTracer technology in action being utilized to track the ball flight of the touring pros.
TopTracer (originally called ProTracer) is a camera-based system that tracks ball flight and adds on-screen graphics to make trajectory and shot- shaping visible to viewers enhancing televised golf coverage.
It has become an integral part of the broadcast experience for fans, having been featured in coverage of numerous prestigious tournaments like the recent AT&T Byron Nelson and the Charles Schwab Challenge conducted in our area. The TopTracer was conceived by a Swedish entrepreneur named Daniel Forsgren during the year 2006.
I can tell you as a golf instructor having taught all around the world for the past four decades, having this type of high tech at your fingertips only helps to showcase to my students what I am teaching as it gives them immediate feedback.
