Loving Where We Live

By Kassie Pounds

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess there are not many people out there who love every single thing about their home. I even read frequently about those who build their own place wishing they had done a few things differently. It doesn’t mean you can’t love where you live.

Our house is old – 91 years old to be exact, and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It also means it comes with some quirks I don’t necessarily love.

We have remodeled almost the entire home and guess what? There are things I picked myself that I now loathe (like that brown granite that was so popular the year we did the kitchen.). The house is not huge and at times it’s overwhelmingly tight with two small children playing, leaving a trail of toys everywhere they go. Storage is not abundant, and we only have one bathroom (two of those old house quirks).
